Changing U.S. Immigration policy, regulatory compliance and developments in nationality and consular law often directly affect our clients. In order to provide both individuals and businesses with news about immigration status and reforms, Bailey & Galyen provides timely updates.
According to the USCIS, slows have increased in processing immigration applications because the number of applications submitted in 2007 has doubled since last year. While 1.2 million applications were received in 2006, one year later at the same time, 2.5 million applications have been received. To deal with the excessive workload, the USCIS has hired 1,500 new employees, but even so, delays are expected for naturalization applications filed after June 1, 2007 that take up to 16 to 18 months for processing.
Applicants will be sent receipt notices when the USCIS Service Center receives their applications. Receipt notices contain important case information along with a receipt number you can use on the USCIS website to register, check on case status and also to receive automatic case status updates.
